Interpretation of depositional bodies in the parasequence sets from 3D seismic data

    • It is a controversial problem whether seismic resolution and exploration capability can be enhanced by effectively interpreting the spatial exhibition of depositional bodies in the parasequence set based on 3-D seismic data and sequence stratigraphy. Nevertheless, this is obviously a problem worth studying in the field of seismic and geological comprehensive interpretation. In consideration of relative preservation of amplitude, frequency, phase and waveform, we have interpreted a 3-D dataset with the large bin size, collected from an area of 560 square kilometers in the Junggar Basin, using sequence stratigraphy-guided seismic stratigraphy and reservoir evolvement methods combined with sequence interpretation of well data and calibration of the reference marker. Finally, we have obtained the effective spatial exhibition and superposition relationship of depositional bodies J1s12 and J1s22 in parasequence set J1s2.
