ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUE FOR MIS-TIE BY LINEAR DECOMPOSITION

    • Mis-tic is a big problem in seismic data interpretation, especially with data processed with the emphasis on amplitude inversion. The mis-tics among survey lines appear to be systematic. Such systematic errors arc different from line to line. The averaging procedure is therefore unsuitable for correction and systematic error on each line has to be separately computed. In this paper, we present a linear decomposition technique for globally analyzing mis-tics inter sections in an entire area, in which the mis-tics on lines are linearly decomposed into systematic errors and random errors. A certain hypothesis is then made for the random errors and a set of equations is established to relate the systematic errors to mis-tie for each line. The systematic error on each line is derived by applying an appropriate restraint. Via respectively correcting the systematic and random errors, the correction for mis-tic is finally implemented. A practical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
