Seismic data regularization by merging processing in Chengdao-Zhuanghai area

    • Merging processing joints several 3-D seismic data blocks together for imaging, which can well remove the boundary artifact in migrated sections caused by little pieces of seismic data, and make the structure interpretation more accurate. The little pieces of seismic data have a great difference in S/N, energy, phase, wave form and frequency because of the difference in acquisition time, equipment, construction method, acquisition grids and surface condition. So, regularization processing should be carried out for seismic data during merging processing to eliminate the differences. The surface conditions in Chengdao-Zhuanghai area include shallow sea, land-sea transitional area, and land. Seismic data is composed of 26 little 3-D seismic data. Through the analysis and study of the characteristics of seismic data, some methods were utilized, such as wave shape conformity wavelet matching method, vector wave group moveout correction method, time-space variable energy statistical matching method and progressive-superimposed bin equalization method, which can well solve the difference of several aspects like wave shape, to settle proper data basis for imaging. Finally, the imaging achieved good result.
