Seismic reservoir prediction and hydrocarbon detection of QHD29-2 block in Bohai Basin

The Ed3 of QHD29-2 block in Bohai Basin is a structure-lithology trap. The distribution of reservoir and hydrocarbon cannot be effectively predicted by conventional wave impedance inversion and seismic attribute analysis. On the basis of integrated analysis on petrophysical properties, guided by the crossplot of lithology and fluid sensitive elastic parameters, we combined reservoir prediction method based on Poisson impedance (I_PI) analysis with hydrocarbon detection technique (Lame constant λ as main parameter) to carry out research on QHD29-2 block. As a result, a series of geophysical workflow suitable for the reservoir prediction in QHD29-2 block was proposed. The prediction result was proved by drilling.
