Abstract:
After 2014, with the low crude oil price in the international market and the application of high-density acquisition technologies, oilfield corporations and service companies faced significant cost pressures on their acquisition operations.Nodal instruments have developed rapidly, and have become a hot topic of research and application in the oilfield service industry worldwide owing to their advantages of facilitating easy-access surveys on complex surfaces and their ability to adapt to flexible changes in geometry design, as well as their high operation efficiency, low HSE risk, and low operating cost.Furthermore, the price of nodes is lower than that of cabled instruments, and nodal instrumens can better adapt to the development trend of acquisition technology that is "single point, high density, and amount of channels." In recent years, Sinopec has continuously promoted the development and application of nodal instruments.Herein the performance characteristics of the first-and second-generations of the Ⅰ-Nodal node acquisition systems developed by Sinopec Geophysical Corporation were introduced.Furthermore, the progress in the application of nodal acquisition technology in Sinopec was summarized. The application effect was demonstrated by combining various acquisition modes, such as the hybrid acquisition mode of the node and cable system, the independent acquisition mode of all nodes, and the matching acquisition mode of all nodes and new excitation technologies. The data quality was improved by increasing the number of receiving channels and coverage times.Compared with cabled systems, node acquisition technology faces some problems, such as data cannot be transmitted back in real time, and noise cannot be monitored in real time.To meet the requirements of low cost, high density, and high efficiency in oil and gas exploration efforts, the nodes will be miniaturized, lightweight, cost less, and automated. Moreover, the degree of integration and automation of the node acquisition system will progressively increase. With the development of high-density and high-efficiency acquisition technologies, node acquisition has widespread application fields and good application prospects.
