Abstract: Constructing and modeling of 2-D random medium using statistical method is discussed and calculations on some simple random medium models were performed. From the calculated results, some important and interesting conclusions can be obtained. The data obtained from high-resolution seismic methods are distorted by local micro-heterogeneity in reservoir beds. When the classical interpretation methods can not get correct results for those data, one could try to use the random medium theory. It is shown that modeling and analysis of wavefield in random medium is a valuable content in seismics, especially for developing seismics.
