Abstract: Development seismic arises to meet the need of development of oil and gas field. Its importance becomes more obvious as the increase of development degree. The development seismic techniques are in their seedtime on the whole in China. The existing methods is only applicable in early stage of oil and gas field development because of insufficiency in image and interpretation methods or poorness in S/N, resolution and precision. Based on such observations, the author suggests that firstly, geophysicists and reservoir engineers should give up sense of disciplines, learn from other's strong points to make up each other's deficiencies, and grip integrated skills in using expertise of geophysics and reservoir development to form a new technical frame of reservoir model construction. Secondly, before field tests, fundamental and modeling researches on methodologies such as imaging of crosshole seismic data, processing and interpretation of interwell multi-wave and borehole time-lapse seismic data, as well as quality improvement of 3D data by means of borehole data, should be carried out. To make the developed methods more applicable, emphasis should be laid on integration of different methods.
