Abstract:
There are several large scale volcanic activities once occurred in the center of Tarim Basin in the Paleozoic era. It is hard to distinguish the hints of the volcanic activities from seismic sections. These activities not only influenced the sedimentary and geothermal history, but also have much influence to the conditions and situations of hydrocarbon accumulation, especially the volcanic activity at late of the early Permian epoch has much influence to the Silurian and the Carboniferous reservoirs. Through the investigation of attitude, distribution, electrical property, and forming time of the igneous rocks in center of Tarim Basin, this paper discussed the influence of igneous rocks to oil and gas, and the significance of analysis of igneous rocks to oil and gas exploration in this area.
